Making Your US Education Dream Come True

Many students across the world have the dream to study in the United States. However, their family situation and income lead them to believe that they have no chance to study there and that it can only be a dream. However, many US Universities need and want international students and are very generous in helping students fund their undergraduate education. In today’s article we want to point out to you the basics of finding the funding to study in the United States.

Obviously, the easiest way is to be a top notch student. The best universities in the United States are need blind for international students, which means that your income and ability to pay is not a factor in your acceptance to those universities. Harvard, Yale, Princeton and other Liberal Arts Colleges such as Williams and Amherst will admit and pay up to 100 percent of an international student's tuition and fees based upon their family’s income situation. However, not all of us are that gifted academically and these schools receive thousands of applications.

What many international students don’t know about are the many great universities that the United States has. There are over 4000 universities in the United States. That would mean any school ranked in the top 400 would be in the top 10 percent of all universities. Yet, many international students are unaware and hesitant to apply to these institutions. Many of these schools have lower tuition fees or are keenly interested in attracting and retaining international students. Public school’s such as Minot State University in North Dakota or a small highly ranked private college like Wabash College in Indiana have low tuition fees, are in inexpensive areas, and desire international students. In most cases, public universities can not offer financial aid to international students but the cost of attending can be dramatically different for each. Any University of California University is going to cost you over 60,000 USD to attend while attending Minot State University will cost no more than 20,000 USD.

In short, if there is a will there is a way. International students wanting to study in the US should look at retaining a professional college counseling firm that can help them find financial aid as well as research colleges. Many consultants are focused on the fears that drive college admissions and not on the needs of their clients. At Beyond Education, our focus is solely on finding the right college fit for each student. Now knowing that for 20,000 USD or less a year you can study in the United States, what are you waiting for ——make your dream come true!
